Water Party
Best thing about the Summer School holidays, is that you get to play in water. You also get to shoot people with water guns. Thanks Yvonne V, for having the children around for some awesome water play. Oscar and Anneke enjoyed splashing Patrick, Andrew, Jack, Holly, Jamie, and Portia.

Fossils at Te Papa
Discovered this Mosasaur skeleton near the bush walk at Te Papa. Kept the children occupied for a while.
Trolls
Weta Workshop was as special as always. Did the Weta Studio Tour, fantastic behind the scenes, especially if you are a Lord of the Rings, or a Halo fan. Seeing Sam Neil in the Warthog is a special memory for me. Tighe was fascinated by the miniatures, and the bigatures. Can't wait for Thunderbirds.
We found the Trolls out front.

Cousins with the Cousins
Cable Car Wellington
It has taken four years, and finally we got to take the Cable Car in Wellington. We parked at the top, and took it down into town. Glad we did that. The cruise ships were in the harbour, and the queues at the bottom were horrendous. The children managed to spend all their pocket money at the Met Shop, which had moved, so we had to find that. I picked up some new puzzles for the backpack.

Bumbles
Discovered a bumblebee nest hidden under the rockmelons. They are great to have in the garden , as they are active in cooler temperatures. Bees prefer the sun, but bumblebees will go out in the rain.
Thanks to the bumblebees, we have pears, plumcots, apples, raspberries, and strawberries. I am sure feijoas will be on the list soon.
I have been playing with my new toy, and captured this bumble hard at work.

Boys and Bugs
We've been exploring the ponga walking track along the stream, close by the Waipa mill. Normally when we MTB it, the dragonflies join us. As we were walking, we got a closer view. Cicadas joined us too.
