These two urchins are quite adorable... I wonder how long their good behaviour will last...

Science in the park
SCION had their annual Science in the park. The children discovered strawberry DNA, ate frozen bananas, and watched a coke bottle being used as a rocket. I was interested in the disposable kiwi fruit knife/spoon, that was made from kiwifruit skin and pulp.

Greg read this at the wedding...
Out of wild exuberance of creation throughout millions of years,
you two have appeared
- each of you unique, distinctive, wonderously personal.
you two have appeared
- each of you unique, distinctive, wonderously personal.
You have chosen to journey together down this earth valley
in the brief moment of time that is yours.
in the brief moment of time that is yours.
From this day forth you become a unit of life that will bring forth futures.
You are both called into a new existence.
The old things have passed away; the new heaven and a new earth have become your dwelling place;
For the whole of the universe has come to each of you in the form of a particular person who has a unique love for you,
and is beloved by you.

When we grow old...
When we grow old,
it is not how much money we
have made,
how big our house and cars
are,
how fine our swimming pool
is,
or how beautiful our clothes
are
that will matter.
The only thing that matters in the end
is
whether we are at peace with
ourselves,
and the universe,
and whether we love anyone,
and whether anyone loves us.
The capacity to love,
be it love for family or
friends,
pets, garden, music or
books,
- this is the one thing in
life that lasts,
and will make our lives as
rich and joyful as our beginnings.
Success in job or possession is trivial
and temporary,
compared with the task of a
lifetime,
and the only thing that
makes life worthwhile
- loving.

A celebration
The universe was smiling the day I met you.
Because of you, my days are filled with wonder and delight.
Because of you, the future shines incandescently.
Because of you, my whole world is soaring.
You truly are the love of my life, Ruth. You're my inspiration, my kindred spirit, my co-conspirator in this great mystery called life.
Erik my darling, I will always look up to you.
My toes dance because of you,
my soul sings because of you.
I have a thousand reasons for living because of you.
Everything speaks to me,
from the stone on the road,
to the star in the sky,
you are the reason for my being.
Rainbow's Rest
Rainbows are formed when sunlight shines through the rain. The
magical colours inspire a sense of joy and optimism. Some people
consider a rainbow a bridge between heaven and earth, or as a promise of
hope. For this family, it is a symbol of a new beginning.
Seven
individuals have come together to create a family, and each colour of
the rainbow represents an important element within this family:
Violet, filling the family with love.
Indigo, filling the family with gentleness.
Blue, filling the family with peace.
Green, filling the family with friendship.
Yellow, filling the family with happiness.
Orange, filling the family with strength.
Red, filling the family with energy.
The rainbow represents them all carrying this energy, strength, happiness, friendship, peace, gentleness, and love from their hearts, into their home and family.
