Step and Deck progress

More work done on steps by Brad.  We can't wait to use them.  Currently we are walking around to use the back door.  It's a good time to get the deck painted as well.  Erik changed his mind about the paint colour.  The first coat was too "limey"

Deck progress

Erik has pulled out the dangerous, slippery, falling apart, wooden steps, and we are replacing them with concrete and cobbles.  The deck is getting close to finishing too.  Not sure if we should have 2 projects on the go at once...

Deck nearing completion

Sunshine and Diva enjoying a cat's life

This end of the deck appears the most popular with cats and humans!

Erik and Oliver have been enjoying the extra hours with Daylight saving, and working on the deck.  The nails still need to punched, the holes filled, all of it to be sanded, then painted, so... the deck is nearly finished!
What it used to look like.

Still building a deck

In Erik's keen desire to finish the deck, he has managed to get "tennis elbow" from hammering in over 200 nails in one day.  So now, he has to rest his arm for about 6 weeks for the tendons to calm down and heal.  At least he finished the first metre so we can enjoy the edge of the deck.

Building a deck

The front of the house is North facing, but there is limited space to enjoy the sun.  Ripped up the cobbles, and pulled down the prissy little portico that was useless, as the poles took up the space on the cobbled area. We are recycling the decking timber that Erik pulled up from the back, when the Mancave and Sauna were built
