The road from Tekapo to Pukaki is picturesque. The vivid blues of the lake contrast with the brown hills.
Lake Pukaki looks stunning with the Southern Alps as a backdrop.
Lake Pukaki with Morgan's Island "floating", and our tallest peak Aorangi (cloud piercer) 3,724m.
Not too many vehicles on the road. Stunning drive along the side of Lake Pukaki.
Aoraki Mt Cook looms from the valley.
Erik and I and no traffic. This afternoon we are exploring the Tasman valley. That little brown hill at the base, we are going to climb it. The Tasman glacier goes up the left and the Murchison glacier is on the right.Looking over the Tasman river and moraine, with the Burnett Mountains and Gamack ranges in the background.
Kirikirikatata mountain range, Mt Wakefield in the font, Aoraki Mt Cook in the background.
