Tekapo - Aoraki Mt Cook Road Trip

Road trip time! Erik and I have managed to get a weekend away. We flew into Christchurch, grabbed a rental car, and are off exploring Canterbury high country.  The rapeseed fields before Fairlie were vivid yellow.

Our first peek at the Southern Alps on the road from Fairlie to Tekapo.

Lake Tekapo always looks fake. The blue is intense, and is a result of being a glacier feed lake.

We stopped at Tekapo for lunch. Aoraki/Mt Cook is about an hours drive from here.
