This Mountain Bike Trail has recently been opened, so, a new adventure for us today.
Tighe has just upgraded to a "big boy's bike" so the easy 2km trail was perfect.
We started at the Blue/Green Lakes lookout carpark. The walking track and bike track combine at this point. A gentle uphill, and there are glimpses of the Blue Lake. (Tikitapu)
The walking track splits down to the right, this goes to a beach for good swimming at the Lake.

The bike trail splits off from the walking track. Its a two way track, a bit rutted by horse hooves at the start, but then a beautiful rolling ride, with gentle ups and downs.
Took about half an hour to ride to the Bluelake picnic area. After some refreshments, we rode back to the Green lake. As it was a hot day, we decided to go back the way we came, instead of going around the lake via the road.

I would like to do this trail again, but next time pack the swimming gear, and enjoy the lake at the end of the ride.
