Wanaka / Puzzlingworld

Crisp autumn day on Day 6 of the Mainland Road trip.  Leaving Omarama and off to Wanaka today, and then a catch up with Jack in Cromwell in the afternoon.

After the grand snow covered mountains of the Mount Cook range, the brown tussock hills of Lindis Pass are a balm to the urchins who are suffering from mountain fatigue.

Convinced the urchins to climb to the top of the brown hill, and look at more brown hills.
The Lindas Pass road has spectacular rock formations. There were wild apples growing, and we picked some for our lunch.
Snow on the distant mountains on our travels towards Wanaka.

Puzzle World is such a fun place.  Water runs uphill, and the urchins could lean forward without falling over.
The concave room is my favourite.  The eyes watch as you move around the room.

This optical illusion has the person on the left nearly touching the ceiling, and the person on the right a tiny wee fellow.
So now the boys swapped around, and Tighe bumped his head.

A large area has lots of different illusions.
The elevator was a bit freaky, the floor felt like infinity.
It's the same artwork - looking from the left.
Looking straight onto the picture, and it was 3D popping out.
On the right looking back at the picture.

The illusion at the toilet block takes a while for your eyes to register that it is a painting.

We had lunch at Lake Wanaka.  I'm loving the Autumn days. We need to be at Highlands Race Track, Cromwell by 2.45pm, and it's about an hours drive from Wanaka.
