Northland exploring - Waitangi

The weather wasn't so great, so instead of taking the ferry over to Russell, we opted to explore Waitangi instead.

The variation in the carving style was interesting, and our guide reminded us about the dimples on the waka, that were useful for the America's cup challenges.

Today was opportunity for the urchins to visit an important part of New Zealand history.
The Governers house has been restored.
Shutters.
The Bay of Islands stretched out in front of the house, and over the Waitangi grounds.

Russell

Part of Waitangi experience, is a Maori Cultural show in the wharenui.
I enjoyed the differences in the carving styles and the weaving examples.
