Submarine - USS Pampanito

Took the opportunity while at Fisherman's wharf to visit a submarine, the USS Pamanito. I have been on a Russian sub, and a German Sub. It was great to see inside a USA sub.
The audio tour was useful, as it provided lots of information about each section on the submarine.
The urchins could travel from the rear of the sub, to the front, in their own time.
The crews quarters were very cramped, 3 layers of beds.
Washing machine and sink were available for the crew.
The Captain's cabin wasn't very big either.

Lots of doors to step through, that separated each compartment.
Narrow corridors and low ceilings. Officers quarters on the left, Captain's quarter on the right.

The radio room was tiny and squashed.
The operations room was red lighting, as it was easier to adjust to dark, than from white light.
Even New Zealand was on the map!

The torpedos were in the next bay forward.
 The toilet was here too!

 The climb out was steep.

The fog was still over the bay, and Alcatraz was peeping through.

Fisherman's Wharf / Pier 39

Took the ferry from Sausalito into the City.  Walked along the Embarcadero to Fisherman's wharf.
Visited some of the sites from the movie Antman and the Wasp. Still debating with the urchins, which carparking building the last scene was set in.
Plenty of sea lions at the pier, and plenty of people watching them.
The urchins needed some souveniers, and Pier 39 has to be the touristy place of San Francisco. The usual key rings, magnets, t-shirts, and other Made in China souveniers are all available.
Donuts provided sustenance, and the crowds kept coming.  I am not sure what they came to do and see, there are just restaurants and tacky shops.
Quinn perfected sliding along rails
Further down the wharf were lots of eateries, the urchins just wanted fries, and we forgot about the added tax (plus a tip), when looking at the prices.
There were a number of street performers, and people begging for money and food. Some were more inventive than others.
The weather cleared up, and it was pleasant stroll back to the ferry later in the afternoon. Erik was already on the ferry, we stopped for some Mt Tam Triple Cream Brie, and some sourdough bread for snacking.

San Anselmo (Yikes a snake!)

About 40 minutes drive away was San Anselmo.  A small village near Sky Walker Ranch.
The influence of George Lucas can be seen at Imagination Park.
A small park with Yoda and Indiana Jones as part of a fountain.
The details on the statues are exquisite.
We had a picnic lunch here, enjoying the shade and the wooden benches.
A quiet village, and pretty boutiques, plus an ice cream shop full of wonderful creations.
Erik got a pumpkin ice cream, and I enjoyed a mango and ginger.  Darth Chocolate and Wookie Cookie were also available.
Took the scenic drive back to Muir Beach, via the Fairfax - Bolinas road. Plenty of Redwoods, hills and corners.
The Alpine lake was refreshing to dip our feet in.  Tighe wanted to go swimming.
Suddenly, at my feet was a snake! Tighe didn't want to go swimming anymore.
I didn't know snakes like to swim, exciting afternoon.

Biscuits - USA style

Denise gave us some cookie dough.
Store it in the refridgerator, and then use when required.  We had run out of biscuits, and decided to try the pre-made dough.
The instructions were easy, and we shaped the biscuits, instead of leaving them as per the cutout square.
