Egyptian Museum - San Jose

Part of the exhibits at the museum are everyday life that was carved into the temples and buildings.  I really like how the Sun's rays (RA) is shining though.
This piece was part of a balustrade decorated with Royal Cartouches.
There was a display of the pyramid, and in scale to humans, they were huge.
Snakes also got mummified, and had their own coffins, and were placed in the tomb.
Internal organs were placed in jars.  The jars then had their own coffins.
Also on display was a replica of the Rosetta Stone. It was much smaller than I thought it would be, and there were magnafiying glasses to have a better view of the script.  The Rosetta Stone is a stone slab, found in 1799, inscribed with three versions of a decree issued at Memphis, Egypt in 196 BC during the Ptolemaic dynasty on behalf of King Ptolemy V.
The top and middle texts are in Ancient Egyptian using hieroglyphic script and Demotic script, respectively, while the bottom is in Ancient Greek. As the decree has only minor differences between the three versions, the Rosetta Stone proved to be the key to deciphering Egyptian hieroglyphs.
