Hideaway Resort Vanuatu

Bungalow 1 and 1A were our little houses for our stay.  Everytime we took the boat over to Efate, the urchins enjoyed seeing our houses from a distance.   Close to the jetty, and a few minutes walk to the bar and restaurant.  The high bed took a while to get used to, but we got a fabulous view.
The view from the bed, and the high bed.
No air conditioning, which I loved.  I normally get a headache from the artifical drying of the air, and the noise.  The louvre windows faced the breeze, so if we wanted the room cooler, we just opened the windows wider.  They had insect screens on them.  It was cool enough at night to keep the windows closed.  Not sure how effective /cool it would be in the summer months.
Kitchen, living room, and Oscar's bunk
We had a shower and a bath in our bungalow.  The Children's bungalow, had a shower only.
The gardens were recovering from Cyclone Pam, yet there was lots of colour and perfume in the air.

Most days these birds kept use company in the garden.  One morning 6 of them were in the trees outside the bungalow, singing and chirping.
This God is around the place.  I saw statues of this God all over Vanuatu.    The pathway from our Bungalows to Reception were protected by this God.

Reception and pool table
The gardens had amazing colour from the tropical plants and flowers.

There were some banana palms around as well, but not quite ready for the urchins to eat.  Tighe found coconuts.
The variety and colours of the hibiscus always made me smile.  Most days a new one would flower, and show off it's colouring.

The small butterflies kept me company while I watched the children in the pool.  Even on the coral track back to the bungalow, they fluttered by, making me smile.
