Ljubljana - Slovenia

Ljubljana, the city of dragons, and bridges, and old buildings.
According to local legend, Jason and the Argonauts slayed the dragon living in Ljubljana, on their way back from their quest for the Golden Fleece.
The Dragon bridge has 4 dragons.

One of the bridges is covered in padlocks
Pastel coloured buildings line the narrow streets.  I like the decorative details around the windows.

Town hall, and main shopping street in old town
Off the main street is a narrow uneven cobbled street, Reber Way. Winding the way up the hillside, on the way to the castle.
Refer Way steps
We paused to catch our breath at the top of Reber way.
I really like this building over the road (Karlovska cesta)

Umbrella shop -14 Trubarjeva cesta, Ljubljana

On the crossing with Mala ulica, there is a little umbrella-making and repair shop. Its owner, Ms. Marija, repairs broken umbrellas, makes new ones and sells old ones. She’s the last one in Ljubljana, even in Slovenia, that is experienced in this craft.
After all the walking and seeing new things, we decided to try some Slovenian specialities. I got a mushroom soup (the mushrooms are different, much larger. The soup came with a side of brazen krompir (onion mashed potatoes).

The goulash came in it's own cauldron. Plenty of bread to soak up the flavours.

Typical Ljubljana dishes: beef soups, frog legs, kranjska klobasa (pork and bacon sausage), "Little mixed" or tripe stew (goulash), pražen krompir (sautéed potatoes), štruklji (with cottage cheese), cooked apple strudel, potica (with walnut filling).
