Zale Cemetery - Ljubljana, Slovenia

After coffee, chocolate, chestnuts, and cake, I wandered across to Zale Cemetery in the Bezigrad district.

The entrance way and smaller buildings were designed by Joze Plecnik, the Slovenian architect, and completed in 1942.
There are different smaller chapels in this Plecnik area, and I found the whole area fascinating.
The idea behind the design, was that the complex of the Garden of All Saints, with a symbolic portal that divides the town of the living and the town of the dead.

The buildings had many styles and influences in their architectural details. One of the chapels was constructed with recycled materials.
