Cycle Tour - Övörkhangai Province - Mongolia - Day 4 (Stage 3)

Today's stage takes us cycling 90km through the Övörkhangai Province, and then over a 2,000m above sea level range. We will then take the vans to Mongol Els, about 50km drive, to stay the night near Little Gobi.

The landscape has changed. Much more rocky in the hills.
I really like seeing these tiny butterflies fluttering around the grasses.
Plenty of wildflowers.
A yellow grasshopper
The birds of prey are always a good distraction to the rise in elevation. My heart noticed the lack of oxygen.
Always a great opportunity to take more photos of huge rock formations.
Just before the top of the 2,000 m high"hill", our refreshments were set up.
Don't know the name of this flower, but I found it fascinating.
Just the act of walking along the hillside took my breath away, and I got spots in front of my eyes.
Yes, I got altitude sickness. Migraine, nausea, stomach cramps.  I had a barley sugar, and a milo, and took some migraine medicine.

That's the top of the "hill", 2,000 m above sea level.
Drivers and guide took the opportunity to rest in the trees. Batbayer, Buggy, Hallan, and Willy.

Erik in the vast landscape of Mongolia.

Erik decided to take a break, and also grab some refreshments under the trees.

  Different varieties of fungus growing.
Once Erik had his refreshments, on the bike again, and over that high hill.

The view from the top.
Mongolia goes on forever, hills, valleys, plains, vast landscapes.

Time to go down hill for a while, and then one last peak to cross.
