The Temple of the Maharajas - Choijin Lama Temple Museum - Ulaanbaatar - Mongolia

The first building at the Choijin Lama Temple Museum is the Temple of the Maharajas. It is also where you pay the  $NZ10 for entrance fee, as well as $NZ25 for the camera pass.  We didn't have enough cash on us, and fortunately on Gender St, about 2 minutes walking distance is an ATM at the UB Mart Shopping centre.

The tickets have a map on the back, and there is another easier to read on through the doors of the temple.
The painted ceiling of the temple was exquisite.

Detail of the ceiling

There is a short path to the "Evil Subduing Ceremonial Gate", and the other temples are on the other side.
I am fascinated by the architectural details and decorative finishes on the buildings.
Details on the top gable of the roof of the Evil Subduing Ceremonial Gate.
Looking back through the Evil Subduing Ceremonial Gate from inside the courtyard with the Main Temple
Detail of the grass growing on the roof of the Evil Subduing Ceremonial Gate. ( I love the name).
